Upgrading Ireland’s Homes
Located in Terenure, Dublin, this 1960's home was part-funded by SEAI, to undergo energy efficient deep retrofit works.

-
100mm of KORE External EPS70 Silver insulation was used as part of a complete STOmix External Wall Insulation System.
Best practice and high quality workmanship ensured that repeating and non-repeating thermal bridges were eliminated or kept to a minimum.
-
150mm of floor insulation was installed to insulate the ground floor of this home.
-
400mm of mineral wool attic insulation was installed to top up the minimal 30mm that was installed when the home was originally built.
-
KORE installed a 8.5KW Mitsubishi EcoDan air-to-water heat pump system to provide the home with reliable, trouble free, renewable heating and hot water.
The existing radiators were upgraded with new low temperature radiators with temperature regulating valves.
-
KORE chose uPVC triple-glazed low energy windows with a U-value of 1.21W/m2K and one composite door at the rear of the property, as well as a triple-glazed porch at the front of the house.
The windows were set out into the insulation layer which minimised thermal bridging, as well as airtightness tape used on all windows and doors.
